Days after security experts
Days after security experts had a
serious Android vulnerability, a security security issue, threatening hundreds of millions of phones with this system, Samsung announced their intention to make monthly security updates to their devices. Once again, a new and possibly more serious vulnerability appears.
Back then, the Stage fright vulnerability has been announced that threatens 950 million Android devices, but it looks like it won't
show up there.
The security company "Check Point" revealed a new vulnerability in the Android system during its participation in the security conference currently being held Black Hat 2015, where the company indicated that the new vulnerability targets a number of phones of major manufacturers in this field.
The new vulnerability bears the name "Certifi-Gate" and is exploited by some malicious applications to gain access to the privileged powers of the user, as hackers exploit it to obtain user data in addition to accessing device resources by turning on the microphone, for example, recording user conversations and other methods.
Check Point has confirmed that it has notified the relevant companies of this vulnerability, in particular:LG,Samsung,HTC and ZTE, pending their quick move to release security updates for phone models affected by the Certifi-gate vulnerability.
